As Russia moves toward privatization
of public property, the need for information soars on "how they do it in the
US". In June 1997 I was invited by Russian authorities to travel in the Russian Far
East as a real estate ambassador. Funding for this volunteer work comes via a USAID grant
to the University of Alaska American-Russian Center. The Center has counterpart offices in
the RFE, including the cities I visited, Magadan and Khabarovsk. Magadan is Anchorage's
sister city; Portland is the sister city to Khabarovsk.
The text of the seminar is available in English as a Word 6.0 document:
Russian Real Estate Seminar. A translation in
Russian is available through the American Russian Centers in Anchorage and Russia, or send
me an e-mail and I will get one for you.
The rest of this page takes a minute to load the photos: there are eight of them, about
12K each.
