Designed by the architect
Carlin Williams for his personal home, this outstanding Hillside
home is Alaska living as it should be! The post-and-beam
construction is of old-growth fir. Most of the home is a great
room: one big open area under high ceilings and with large
picture windows for maximum sun exposure.
The stunning 1.75 acre
site is at the end of level drive within a lot or two of Storck
Park and the Section 36 recently-zone park areas. There's a
winding drive to the home, about 75 yards from paved Clark's
Road. Situated on a gentle knoll, this is one of the few
Hillside sites that enjoys wrap-around views of all the
Anchorage Bowl's major visual treats: Cook Inlet, the twinkling
lights of downtown, the Chugach Range including Flattop
Mountain, and Denali, Mt. McKinley, the Great One of the Alaska
Range.
The well-equipped kitchen has a rebuilt Sub-Zero
fridge and an ultra-quiet Bosch dishwasher. The kitchen is the
center of the home, under what must be a 30-foot high ceiling at
its peak.
Let the photos at the
bottom of this page, and visual
tour from the link above, speak for themselves! And be pleasantly surprised at the
perennials that will come up in the yard when spring comes.
