"We have lived here because of the neighborhood," says Robert Benton of this
home he built in popular Turnagain View. "It's the schools, the neighbors, the
landscaping, architectural control. Everything that makes a house turn into a real
home."
At the back of one of the first cul-de-sacs in the new phase, this four-year old home
was completely reconditioned inside in August and fully repainted in anticipation of this
sale. "We won't be far," says Benton, "Our new home is going to be on the
street just behind this cul-de-sac."
The Benton residence features a master bedroom on the ground floor, to cater to the
owner who desires street-level access and easy mobility through the main living areas of
the home. The upstairs has a loft, two additional bedrooms, a bath and a very large rumpus
room that Benton would add a closet to if a buyer wanted four full bedrooms. "There
is considerable real attic storage, the kind of space you can walk around in," says
Benton.
The main level has formal dining room and immense common living area under a vaulted
ceiling under two skylights "that don't leak," Benton says. There's a 50-foot
deck in the rear opening to a generous back yard. The entire rear of the home, where the
living areas are, faces South, the preferred direction for Alaska's low sun angles.
