Goldenview Park, prime suburban living where one can feel they really live in Alaska, without losing the benefits of a traditional American neighborhood. It's not far from Anchorage's job centers, located in the middle of the Hillside district about 13 miles from downtown. The route is entirely paved collector streets and a divided highway. This is a move-up destination for local homeowners, and the first choice among many corporate and government transferees from other states, and overseas.
In part, the draw is quality of the schools serving this part of town, including the city's newest high school.
This home has one of the most appealing lots in the neighborhood. It's the highest cul-de-sac in Goldenview Park. The other side of the street must remain undeveloped as it is part of the creek drainage system in this part of town. There's a moose with two calf living there now, the only residents one can see from this home. So from its side of the street one enjoys unobstructed views of Cook Inlet, the Alaska Range, Mt. Spurr and Redoubt volcano. Looking north there's a break between a couple trees where you can see (no, not Russia!) Mt. McKinley (aka Denali, the "Great One").
The homeowners told me the view was the biggest influence on them in making this purchase among competing properties. And so it might be for you, too. But don't be surprised if their spotless housekeeping, their care and attention to details, their taste in interior decor and color runs high in your mind, too. You'll see it as you review the photos.
This is a very accommodating floor plan. It's a five bedroom home where you will probably use the fifth bedroom, on the main level as an office. That's what you'll see its present use in the photo.
